"suddenly" last day event

hmmm... not bad... the sweetness of tea tarik is pretty good, I like it...After having the breakfast, we start our mini explorace.

Compare to last week, the weather is much more hotter than last week, all of us cannot stand the hotness of the sun, keep on getting the drink to replenish the water loss. Out of our expected, it rained when the activity carry on. We had no choice and we change the last check point to the dining hall.

Noon, is closing ceremony session. Hmmm... every story must have a climax before going to end. Same as in the real situation, we faced the most unacceptable problem which is the surau suddenly dirty and suddenly need to clean it. This "suddenly" made us suddenly nervous and suddenly need to change the venue of closing ceremony.

Because of the PA system suddenly broken that day, the closing ceremony underwent without using microphone. If you think that the story will end like this, then u are wrong. During the children performance and their performance need the microphones, suddenly the portable PA system come out. Har!? why are u keep it when our VIP was giving his speech. Fine, this is not the last "suddenly". Then our closing ceremony come to the last part which is giving the present to the children there. Suddenly, the children were full attendance. Har!? No one busy and no one feeling not well.

hmmm... what a good suddenly day.

Third day event

I'm still remember the weather is very suitable to undergo sukan aneka. The atmosphere made us fresh and drowsiness all gone.
Same as last week, the children that join our activity is out of our expected. We did prepare 6 sets of game to them, but the number of children only allow us to form 4 groups. Luckily, it did not affect the flow of the games, otherwise we will headache again. Haha
Actually, when I was knowing there were two extra sets of game to play, I almost cannot control my emotional to join the game. Unfortunately, I'm a photographer, my job is to snap the best moment of the activity but not to play. "Not fun at all," I told myself silently. That is only way stop my desire. TT

After that is science slot activity. Honestly, I'm quite worry on the science slot activity, because of the person in charge give me an unsure answer. "Where is your science slot going to held?" I asked because of I need to prepare the venue. "Whatever, here or surau also can." He said.
Har!? I really cannot accept the answer like this, this give me the impression that u didn't prepare well. However, the science slot still underwent without any big problem, and I really enjoy with playing the washing dish and the dyes.

last day

Last day

At morning ,We gathered at  bioinformatics  building to pack the gifts that were prepared for the closing ceremony. After that we went to the orphanage.

The first activity for that day was explorace. Maizurah and I were in  charge of the forth checkpoint  (sinking coins ) it was fun however most of them were not interested for the quiz  part and they kept playing with the coin .

Unfortunately due to the heavy rain we couldn’t complete the last check point outside so we moved to the hall and we continued our game there .

After that we started to prepare for the closing ceremony I was  in charge with ili and ru shin to hand out  gifts to our vip guests and the girls , I was so glad to be a part of it  . It was the best way to close our program and say goodbye to those angels. It was a great experience for me to be a part of the community . although  I faced many challenges as  an international student but I believe I learnt a lot from this course .hopefully by next time I will be able to communicate smoothly. At the end  I wanna thank  dr arpha and my dear friends for making  this course unforgettable .

LAST DAY DUDE!!!

ASSALAMUALAIKUM.

Yeah!!! and its finally a LAST DAY for this Social Engagement.. wooooooohhhoooooooooo

hahah its not like I dont like to do a volunteering or any social engagement. Its just maybe we didnt have a good start with that home. And NOW I cant wait to say GOOD BYE! hahaha

Alright back to the point. So it is our last day. After having breakfast, we started our activity with explorace. The games of the explorace were so good as they are so exciting competing each other.

That games have many checkpoints and all of the kids have to complete all checkpoints for winning that explorace. I've been assigned to checkpoint 3 with Pidot. Yeah, As you know when Pidot and me are together, we became extreamly nuts! hahah poor for those kids having a mad facilitator. hahah

Then after break. We prepared and have a rehearsal for the closing ceremony. Me and Pidot are being the formal emcee for that occassion. I feel so proud because, during giving a souvenir for the kids the present are all awesome. Thank God that we can find sponsor and gave more than we expected.

Of course we did quarrel with that home due to some issues. arrghh dont want to mention it.

But! after the ceremony end! we are running to van for heading back to UM.

hahaha At last we finished it ! Awesome! :D

3rd Day Experience @ Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih

Assalamualaikum,
alright right now I will tell you our experience for 3rd day doing activities at that home

In the morning after we having our breakfast of delicious nasi kerabu, we are doing mini games (sukaneka). That mini games have many station. Mostly all the children love the games and I thinks that they are quite competitive too.

Then, after we played that mini games. Our next activities called 'taji ayam' which all the kids have to tie a balloon at one of their legs and they have to step on other player balloon. If your balloon blow out then you will out from the games. All the kids accidently became aggressive to each other. Maybe  they are too excited. Haha to remember it back it is quite funny T_T

After that, we have our break for Zohor and lunch. The program started back at 2 pm. We continued with science slot. Which the most excited activity to them. As we science student maybe we think that it is simple experiment because we already used to do experiment in lab. When we took out our exoeriment apparatus example of measuring cylinder they all look us like we are soooooo amazing.

Its quiete tiring though. But Im satisfied for the children feedback. Its better than a first day. :)

bye..

Last day event

During last day event, there are two main activity sessions which are the explorace and the closing ceremony for this Social Engagement. In the morning, we start to set up the apparatus needed at the dataran. Since we finish set up, we are facing another problem where the children can join our activities are less than our expected. After discussing and waiting, there are almost 20 children who can join with us. Due to this, we start our explorace session. As the activity processing, the weather also turn bad and having a heavy rain later a while. Hence,we change the venue for the explorace to their hall and complete our activity.

For the closing ceremony, we carry out in the hall due to some reasons. The ceremony start after the VIP arrived. Before the ceremony ends, we are giving some goodies bags for the children who join our event. After that, the Social Engagement of Bioinformatics is officially complete.

Although I feel very happy when this event finish but also feeling down because so many days we carry out our event at there and build up a strong bond with those children. Hence, I feel sad and also appreciate that the subject Social Engagement give us an oppurtunity which can explore to the children in the RALK and spend four Sunday with them.

3rd day event

During 3rd day event, i responsible to conduct the simple experiments for the science slot. The experiments suggested were Glowing Milk, Tower Density and another one is Pressure Trick. But at the end, only Glowing Milk and Tower Density are carrying out due to insufficient time. Both two experiments are simple and the children can involved in the experiments with the guiding of facilitators.

Before the activities start, all the children are excited for the activities prepared for them. Maybe due to my mistakes, some of them do not carry out the experiments in the proper ways but some of them were successfully get the result and asking the knowledge behind the experiments. From the two activities, the children are explored to the new experiences which can't learn it in the class.

As a student, we should have open-minded when we meeting somethings new. It is an oppurtunity to learn more new knowledge. So we must always be prepared for facing any problems where it is an chance for us to learn.

It's time to say goodbye!!!!!! yehaa!! haha, all done! during the last day of the program, I and Ru Shin conducted mini explorace. There were 6 checkpoints. The games are titanic, sinking coins, quiz, teka teki, jump in and so on. All games went very well. But for last checkpoints which is giant dice games, we have to play at dining hall. All the children enjoy the games and I feel the same way. After done all the games, we prepared for closing ceremony. AND!!! BIG PROBLEM CAME SUDDENLY!! It was really makes me "happy".. ANNOYED enough. We just proceed our closing ceremony at dining hall. I'm really sorry for the VIPs. In conclusion, i'm happy because i've done all this. This experience is not easy to get. I hope that i Learnt something from this program and after this I can make it better than before. Thanks guys !

Last Day Visit

10th May 2015

Finally, it came. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well -- gastric. T.T
Hmm, here I would like to thanks for those who shown their concern. I felt better after taken the medicine. =)
Even tough I was not comfortable, but I was still very enjoy myself in the last day visit.
It is happy to say that those kids do really enjoyed the activities we had prepared for them. Especially the games and mini explorace which had conducted on the last day. The cooperation that hold in their team and the spirits of they did not care about matter of  'lose or win' was really surprised me.
Next session was followed by closing ceremony. Their performance amazed me.  We gave the kids a goodies bag each with snacks and stationary set inside.
It's time to say goodbye after the closing ceremony. The last Sunday we spent with them. I'll keep these sweet memories in the deepest of my heart. Dear kids, may you could face the challenge in the future with determination and the faith the holds in you.

I'm glad that I could have a chance to communicate with them. Special thanks to Dr. Arpah for her guidance and support. Social Engagement is really a good program with could bring us, undergraduate students and the society together. Through this program, I had give my first try on being a volunteer. Patience and tolerance are very in the process of communicate with them. And the most important, don't take things as granted. We should appreciate on what we have.
Lastly, I would like to thanks to everyone. I really happy that we successfully to work as a team. I would also like take this chance to apologize on any mistakes that I've made. Thanks for the cooperation and tolerance.

Guys, you're the supportive members!

By Ru Shin.

Last Day

From this project, I already learn that we need to show our caring to the children because the children at there maybe lack of love from their parents. Sometime, the children at there maybe will show their negative emotion so we need to show our patient to them and try to communicate with them. I believe that our arrival already bring happiness especially when they were playing the games. I think their soft skill and self-confidence also had improved through some activities. Lastly, I feel very happy because all of us already show our teamwork to make this project successfully. I also appreciate the cooperation from the other.

Last Day

10 May is our final day on Rumah Limahan Kasih. It was much relaxed as compared to the previous days. Without much pressure everyone enjoyed themselves. the game section was fun. It was such a pleasant experience to watch the children enjoyed themselves and forget about wining or losing. Although it was such a pity that I couldn't teach them more about Taekwondo, but since the staff of the rumah didn't like it that much, It's ok.

The closing ceremony was nice too, watching the children performing for us was a wonderful experience. And with the end of the ceremony, it marked the end of our field work on Rumah.
My experience here taught me so many thing. I leaned to be a team- worker while we were planing the whole thing. I also learned to caring and sympathetic while we were on the field work.

I would like to say thanks to Dr. Arpah for her guidance. I would also like to say thanks to my friends who are passionate about their work and tolerate toward each others. It's a honor to work together with you. Finally, I would like to apologize for any mistake I may have made and thanks for tolerant.

It's time to say Goodbye!!

Today, 10/5/2015, was the climax for the Bioinformatic's Social Engagement Project. It was our last day to spend with the children at Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. It was a fine morning, the weather was so cool and kinda cloudy. We scheduled an explorace in the morning. We set up 6 station where each station will be holding a task for the children to do and it is situated at 6 different places. I was the facilitator for checkpoint 5 with Mogana Darshini. My checkpoint was assigned for Quiz and Puzzles. We gave 5 riddles to each group and the children have to answer all of it correctly to score 5 points. Then, the children were given 5 minutes to build the tallest building with wooden blocks. The blocks shouldn't fall down within the 5 minutes of building it. There will be another 5 marks given out when the group successfully complete the 2nd task. The children were sporting and joyful. They were easy to handle when we are conducting the activity which they prefer.

The day continues with the official closing ceremony. Few VIP's attended the ceremony and with God's grace we ended our project well. We prepared 5 hampers and 50 goodies bag with tasty snacks and stationery set. The children were happy to get all the gifts. Their happiness is our satisfaction. Throughout this 4 days at Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih was a good memory for me. I realize that students from society have to serve the society, no one else could do. =)

Third visit :)

i have a problem! Why? Because i have to bring the mineral water box. I told maizurah to help me to bring it. After 10 minutes walking, ainna arrived with motorcycle, she pick us and brought us to bioinfo building, then we went to RALK. For this third visit, mini games is the event in the morning and science slot in the evening, i joined the mini games activity and my group win that games. Im very happy with my teammates. Haha, and during the science slot, the children very excited and eager to do experiments. Third day is very happening to me. -Humaira husna

It's time for some fun : 3rd Visit

There is an english proverb which sounds " no work and no play makes Jack as a dull boy". So, it is a mandatory to plan games when it comes with children. As per tentative, this time we scheduled to do mini station game. We set up 6 stations where

Station 1 : Blow the Ping Pong ball
Station 2 : Bring the Ping Pong ball with spoon
Station 3: Blow the balloon till burst it

Station 4 : Walking 5 at once

Station 5 : Walk with balloons

Station 6 : Tie the blown balloon on ankle and take care of it from bursting

during the play

I realized the children had so much fun. They were so concern to take care of their balloon from bursting. One of the children approach me personally and said she had so much fun with the mini station game. The day continued with hearing test. Each member from each group were given one situation verbally. They were requested to draw out the situation given on a mahjong paper with marker provided. Not bad, all the groups scored 17,16.5,16,14, and 13 marks respectively. The pictures :

The day spent well. Next looking forward for the last big day!

LAST DAY (10th May)

And the day had came finally. Unfortunately, for this "big day" I was not so well. I had flu which affect my focus that day. During the set up gor the explore race, one of the children asked whether it's our last day and she sound a bit sad. However, we did made the Mini Explore Race successful apart from the sudden rain after a very hot weather. My flu get worse because I forgot to bring my cap.. Urghh.. The Giant Dice game was conducted at Dining Hall because of the rain. The children enjoyed the games.
The skipped the rehearsal (I took a nap for the medicine to give effect). The Closing was great. Although the food was late prepared (or rather we started earlier then scheduled) for the VIPs. The children loved the goodies bags so much. they put on some show for us during the Closing as a gratitude.
I hoped that they gain something from our program and grow to become successful in the future in whatever their undertakings. Last but not least, I felt very relieved  everything is over.

My 2nd Visit to Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih =)

Hi everyone!!

On 26/04/2015, Sunday, we had our official second visit to Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih!!
As per scheduled this time we arranged activities which tests their soft skills. We knew they are being educated with life's mandatory skills such as skills to do house chores, bakery and spiritual guides. We started our activity by 10am. Firstly, it was a imagination session. A situation : Firdaus and Ainna getting marry in near future. She wanted to buy a wedding cake which is creative, beautiful and labelled with reasonable price. The children were divided into 6 groups and each group provided with one mahjong paper and three white board marker. As aspected, all the groups came out with exclusive idea together with presentation skills. Each group had one unique characteristics such as group 2 had creative idea, group 1 had well presentation skill while group 4 had developed marketing skills. The pictures:

The next activity was origami session. The children and the facilitator had fun folding different type of origamis. They folded shirt, flower, balloon, jet, shrikin and flapping bird. The pictures:

In sum, I had fun with all the activities. Thank You.

Its Our Last Visit: Fourth Visit

Rushing due some circumstances i meet morgana in my way to bioinformatics building...Check all the hamper and gift before loading in van...Never forget to count the people in the van..Who know somebody left out..haha....Today, got free breakfast again...Murah rezeki Dr Arpah...
Start our program with our mini-games (explorace) .. Everybody ready in their checkpoint..The sun glazing so brightly...Never forget to bring your own umbrella ...We had rehearsal for our closing ceremony...everything in place...Hope nothing come in middle...BUT sorry to said after performing Solat ( Zuhr) they said we CAN'T do the event there.... What is the problem??? They said that they have to clean the place after our activities but why they did not inform us early...No backup plan..So our solution is just do it at another venue.. luckily we still made it..HOORAY...taking some picture and eating....The children seem happy as they got new stationary (faber castle) , food( chipsmore, oreo, layer cake(apollo), milk, sweet) , book( dewan bahasa dan pustaka) and even "kain pasang". I wish i got that faber castle set....Evil laugh...Thanks for this precious memory..I'll keep it..

Third Visit

Yeay...In the morning we have some trouble..Rina woke up late but thanks to Mogana n Maizura was left out. Thanks God, Dr Arpah noticed it .That morning we got free breakfast...Thank Dr Arpah ...Nice Treat...
"Terima kasih daun keladi, Kalau boleh nak lagi"
At first , we keep improving our skill to handle such  'unexpected situation'
but skill thanks a lot giving full commitment to handle them...As our games, it fun playing childish games that we had before in our childhood...It bringing back old memories..
In the evening, we have some fun playing with milk, dish washing , etc...Quiet impressive that some of them know about the theory behind simple slot science for example density.....
Hope we will meet them for our next visit..

WE DID IT !!!!!

Today was the last day at Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. We had many explorace that include many good games. For example, guess what?, titanic and sinking coin. Many things that they could learn from those activities. Those activities had encourage them to think in creative way, strengthen their teamwork and challenge their knowledge. We did the closing ceremony successful. At last, we did it.

Final visit! Time goes by so quickly. The activities went well.. The rain would not stop us from conducting the explorace. Then, the closing ceremony….had some hiccups but it was ok at the end. Phew.

Every minute of these visits are very meaningful to me. For people to respect us, we first need to respect them especially people that are different than us, be it the race, ethnicity and background. I believe that we have to keep an open mind bcus there is more to it than meets the eye.

We don’t have much opportunity to have deeper conversations with the girls. However, I am already attached to – Khaulah and Ijah. They have brilliant minds and positive attitudes. They’re the quiet ones, the low-key ones.. Just like me :3 I would want to visit all of them again this coming Eid. Insha Allah..

third visit

The third visit toRumah Amal Limpahan Kasih was on the 3rd of may . At the morning Dr.Arpha invited us to breakfast and it was delicious .

After that we started to prepare for the first activity mini games There were five chick points .The girls were so excited about the game and so competitive especially on the last chick point  .It was really fun and enjoyable.

The second activity was the science slot. We had two experiment prepared for the girls to conduct and they were all so eager and excited ,they even repeated the experiment a few times . however we faced difficulties explaining to them the scientific methodology of the experiment and the significance of the results ,thus we fear they may have not learned anything scientifically speaking. At the end I feel that our interaction with girls is better now as team and hopefully we will do our best for the last visit .

ISRAA

THE THIRD VISIT

Greetings,

We arrived around 9 a.m. and breakfast was on Dr. Arpah! We had nasi kerabu and nasi lemak.
Then we started to prepare the explorace stations with all the ping pong balls on the first, second and third check-point and the balloons on the fourth check point. I can tell that they were very competitive even among their roommates. Thank God they did not injure themselves while playing the poison balloon.

Then we proceed with the science slot on the evening. First we conducted an experiment with dish-washing soap, sponge, milk and colourful dyes. First, we pour down the milk on the plate. Drop a few droplets of colourful food colouring (dye). Then, stationed a sponge soaked with soap on the centre of the plate and we could see beautiful movement of the food colouring around the plate diluting the milk, galaxies everywhere! They kids were so excited when they started putting more and more colour to see the reactions going on and on. They even repeated the experiment few times because "once is not enough". We then proceed with the density experiment where vary amount of spoonful of sugar was added in 4 different cups and added with hot water to have different density. The water was then added with food colourings to differentiate the density. Each of the water from the cup was then poured into a test tube to have the calibration of water with different density.

We headed back tired but with smiles on our face

THE SECOND VISIT

Greetings.

So, again we came to the Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih for the second time to continue with our Jalinan Masyarakat programmer.

Unlike the previous week, we only had 15 kids to join our activities since the schedule clashed with other programme conducted by the FSS (Fakulti Sastera dan Sains Sosial) students.

We started the day with group presentations by the kids on 'wedding cakes'. They were assigned to invent a wedding cake that resembles the things they like and what the clients (two of the facilitators) want. They did very well and get very creative with the invention of the cake. Some of them even corporate physics where the cake is elevated!

Next, we proceed with Tae Kwan Do conducted by Yow Yong. This week is even better because the were wearing sports attire just like what we expected the last week. (because the were wearing jubah during tae kwan do last week. it was our fault though for not informing them earlier).

After lunch, we had our Origami session! Each of us (the facilitators) have to teach them different kind of shape and I thought them how to make flowers! They enjoyed the slot and got even excited to finish each shape (of the origami) on time.

I enjoyed the day because they were so co-operative and (finally) the had fun during each activity.

3rd Day's Experience by Mogana Darshini Ganggayah!

The 3rd day's experience was something new and unique. It is because we share our knowledge of Science with the children in Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. They found it something interesting and I am glad that they really enjoyed the Science slot of the day with all the Facilitators...

Then, we also organised some mini games for them in outdoor. The children really enjoyed themselve. But unfortunately, not all the students turn up. However, we still manage to conduct the games according to our previous planning. All the facilitators were active enough to conduct the games. We have done with out 3rd day's task successfully. Thanks everyone!

Experience on 3rd day visit

3rd of May 2015.
3rd day visit.
Mini games and science slot for today. The kids were very exited to involve in this session even under the big sun, the hot weather! From here, I could feel that they love to play games, especially the balloons! I could see the cooperation between team members. They cheered, encouraged and gave support to their team members! This is the spirits of being a team, isn't?
Next, science slot. I think they never done any experiments because they are only at the age of 13. I guess, maybe. Haha. They do really love colours! The demonstration of experiments we carried out has been posted before.
Hmmm.. Observations we get with my group of kids!
After two experiments done, it's time for us to say goodbye. Dear kids, we'll carry out some fun games during the next visits! Kak Ru Shin will lead you all, hahaha!

by Ru Shin.

My experience on 2nd visit

26 April 2015
Second day visit. The kids were enjoyed today's session. Why? Because it's the soft skills and origami session! For soft skills session, they'd been asked to complete a task. Which they had to design a wedding cake on a given mahjong paper and present it in front of all those kids and of course, us. I was one of the facilitator too, with my two partners, Nabilah and Wee Keong. The kids in our group were cute and very imaginative. In the end, they had to send a presenter to deliver their design concept. Well, this is a very good chance for them to speak in front of a group of people. They were very brave and courageous enough! I was amazed by some of them who could speak loud and delivered their message clearly. Even me, myself sometimes still couldn't speak well and presented well. Well, a big clap for them for their efforts! And, They taught me something also. What was that? The courage.
During presentation. They are cute, right?

Next. origami. Hmm, I remembered I'd mentioned about colour papers in the last post. Ya, we carried an origami session with the kids. They done it well, followed us, step-by-step. The most happy moment was that when the kids get their origami done! The smile on their faces impressed me.
The kids were simple. Sometimes, these simple things could really made their day them. And of course, the smile they put on them is the greatest satisfication of mine. Simple makes perfect, perhaps. CHEER UP! =D

by Ru Shin.

3rd visit went well. Tho I wished I had a heavier breakfast than roti telur (dr arpah belanja :D). Like the kids, I was too active during the mini sports. They are very competitive. The group that I was in charge of, wasn't that good at blowing the ping pong ball through cups filled of water but they came through in the other stations.. We end up getting 2nd place. Where's our prize? Haha.

Science slot was eyes-opening.. I believe they havent learnt about the scientific method of the experiment but their curiosity and determination drives them to do the experiment repetitively."The importance of repeating experiments in order to prevent systematic errors and random errors, such as errors in instrumentation as well as human errors", quoted Al Biruni.

THIRD DAY (03RD MAY 2015)

Hello everyone!
The third day was a bit out of schedule at the beginning but turned out okay. We almost left Mai behind at Science Faculty XP (my bad) + most of us woke up late. I thought everything gonna be awkward and disappointing. But the mini games got good feedback although less participants involved. I can see that the real inner self of the children especially towards the end of (winning) of the games. I mean how tough and rough they could be despite the values and responses they showed before. However, the best part of the day is the Science Slot time. The children (EVEN the Facilitators) are very excited to do the experiments. they even repeat the experiments several time. The explanation part is the fun-mind -challenging part as most of us had forgotten the principle behind the experiments + we  don't know how to make the explanation understandable at their level of knowledge.
I hope the last day gonna be a lot of fun for everyone and everything turns out well.

3rd Day Experience

Hye,

okay today I will tell you my 3rd day experience at the Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih

for our 3rd visit, we decided to play some games called 'sukaneka'. All the kids at the home really excited because they have to compete each other (total are 4 group) and have work together to be champion in that games.

They play with ballons, ping pong balls and ties their legs

for second session we educate them with some simple science experiment using dye food coloring. the kids are really excited because maybe it is their first science experiment. Plus the food coloring are attracting them due to different coloring dye.

I hope with that simple game and simple science experiment could open their mind and increase their interest in science. Eventhough they are more focusing in sewing and bakery. They should know that right now bakery also can applied in science and technologies. Where you can bake rotatiing cake with volcanoes and everything ( for futher info watch Cake Boss. hahahah)

Alright! We only have 1 Sunday left!

Push for it guys.

XOXO.

2nd Day Experience

Hye,

well today I will tell you my second experience at Rumah Amal Limpahan.
for the 2nd day session Pidot (my partner) and me will conduct the activity. I choose to conduct a softskill slot for that kids.

I felt so excited because me and manage to control and makes the kids excited to our games. We asked them to sketch our wedding cakes and explain infront of everyone. It is difinitely a challange for them because the are not really used to stand out and explaining. It would be a lesson to them and to know how to be  a leader and conduct something

For me I felt really grateful because, that day all the students really excited and cooperate with me. It definitely not easy to control a kids. We should know how to tackle them to follow our instruction.

oh ya, We also teach them how to cheers. Means our cheers chant during Minggu Haluan Siswa (MHS). We teach them the simplest one, because we also dont reall remember enough.

Im totally satisfied for the result and the cooperation of that kids gave to us. Hoping this spirit will continue for our 3rd and 4th visit.

what a memory.

Strive for another 2 sundays more! CHAYOK BIOINFORMATIC STUDENTS 2014/2015

3rd visit

For this time visiting, I feel that all of them still like a little children although they are already 13 years old. They like to playing games, balloon, and so on. They feel very happy after they playing the games and want to play more although before the games they all look like not interested. Moreover, all of them are very interested to the science experiment. They are very enjoy in this slot and they want try until the experiment success. This show that they are not easily to give up. They also ask many questions when carry out the experiment and actually they want to learn something new. In my opinion, I don't think the misfortune can stop the children to get the knowledge. When doing the experiment, I relies all of them like to drink milk so maybe we can buy some milk and put it into goodies bag then give them. I think they will very happy.

MY EXPERIENCE ON 2ND AND 3RD SE PROGRAM

26 April 2015

SE program hadn't failed to amaze me even though it was the 2nd time. This time, the kids were not afraid of me anymore, they started to ask me questions and advice. And it's felt really good to answer to them and shared my experience. I guess my hard work finally paid out, haha.

Despite all these, I was not satisfied with my Taekwondo lesson this time. I failed to estimate the capability of the kids and make them too tire before the lesson end. This is a good experience telling me that I have to be more thoughtful next time.

3 May 2015

I really enjoy myself in this program, I can't believe I have just said it. Before it all started, I think it's a waste of time and it's just another program to polish up the image of UM. Showing public that UM students is actively involve in social work and it is the best uni in Malaysia. However, after going through the SE program, I see the different picture. It about connect ourselves with the society.

By connecting ourselves to the children in the Limpahan Kasih, I learn to be more concerning to the society and the welfare of the unfortunate one. I wish to do more for them but in the end, I receive more than what I have gave. I got nice welcoming, good food, and wonderful experience. And of course, university credits.

 second day visit

on the 26th of April , we performed our second visit to the orphanage and we were surprised to find
that half of our girls were taken by another group also performing their social duties which was unfortunate for us .on the other hand , I can feel the progress we made as our interactions with the girls became smother  and they warmed up to us , also this can be due to the better organization of activities this time around as their excitement eagerness that day was palpable .this has filled us all with a sense of fulfilment and pride in what we did , as well as spurring us to work harder in the next two weeks and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day .

26Apr

2nd visit to RALK was fascinating. Why? Well it’s time for the girls to get their creative pants on! But first warming up the body with taekwondo would do the trick. After all, “Sihat badan, minda cergas”. From drawing wedding cakes to origamis.. They need to stay creative and work their way for solutions. The girls are more in tuned to our objectives and they stayed focus throughout the activities.

Quote of the day : Creativity is intelligence having fun.

SECOND DAY !!!!!

Today, we were having activities that tested their creativity which were really fun. We were having origami session and create wedding cake session ( softskill). We could observed that most of them loved arts either in folding paper or drawing. Besides, they could think in creative ways to produce a unique wedding cake. Unconsciously, they were trying to think out of the box to get the idea. We prepared many interesting and exciting activities for them for the next day.

2ND DAY ACTIVITY

okay, for the 2nd day. It was much better than the 1st day. The children enjoy the activities that conducted on that day. The activities are soft skills, taekwando and origami. For my group, they were excited on that day. They really enjoy it. I think that they should choose their team member with their own, and they will enjoy the activities throughout the day. I hope for the 3rd day it will more and more better than 2nd day.
