1st and 2nd visit
The 1st day is the day we met the children and I think it went fine and the activities went flawlessly well. In my group (Ainna, Me and Ru Shin) the children were having nice talks with us and had great time with us. The best thing about this is to see a smile on their faces despite what they are going through. You know.. It gives hope.
2nd day went great as well, and came the activity which I was responsible for.. Origami. Everybody did a great and flawless job, when anybody needed help I helped them and it was great. And I hope that everybody enjoyed it.
Awaiting next Sunday, wishing everybody a happy holiday and good luck on our next Sunday.

2nd VISIT -RUMAH AMAL LIMPAHAN KASIH
Actually its much better.Than our deadly First visit..Right..Though we face a problem but as mogana said its ok..there is a way...ya bout the children counts ..you really solve the problem...Its bit quiet in my group as there is no trouble maker in my group and they still shy to us...maybe not really open to strangers....Positive thinking.....Hope our next visit make them more focus..our cheering should carry on when they seem lost focus and maybe this week we can add up some more thing....

Second Activity Day (26th April)
Hey, it's me again!
OK OK I'll write much shorter this time :D
We taught simple cheers on how to respond when the Facis asked "Are you Okay?(OK tak?)" and "Can you? (Boleh tak?)" and their enthusiasm remind me of our Orientation Final Day (MHS) :'( ----->Missed the day..
What's best is that in the beginning they're so energetic and enthusiastic, they cheered together with actions. 2 hours later just voice are heard and at the end...... you guess...HAHA right... KRIK KRIK...Hehe. but the energy resumed after lunch,
During Soft skill session I can see that they actually still can talk within small groups. I mean they can represent themselves with lots of confident but nervous to talk in front of larger group. However their confidence leveled up after the talk. (I assumed we reached our objective) and the children are more open and friendly than last time.
Origami session seemed to be conducted by Ainna rather than Bader.. haha ---> the children don't understand English much and Ainna the "Translator" is one of their favourite Facis. So they pay attention more to her and really enjoyed this session, especially when different Facis teaching different origami in separate groups..
The "death" question came to me - "Kakak tahu nak buat origami baju kurung tak?" and I already shook my head and smiled..This remind me of Personality Test session when the children (most) asked the meaning of theory, concept, fact, practical and realistic..Anyone can help me explain these words in easier words???
Anyway, I'm looking forward for next visit + nervous (assigned to be the MC) : P And I can see the bonding between the Facis are much merrier than last semester (and last visit). Fun to know my friends more !

Density Tower With Sugar Solution
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Density
Density is defined as mass divided by volume.
Mass = how many atoms are in an object.
Volume = how much space an object takes up.
As you add sugar to the water, more and more sugar molecules will take over the space, making the water more dense. The cup containing the 8 tablespoons of sugar will be the most dense, the cup with 2 tablespoons will be least dense.
With this sugar water experiment, we put the most dense solution on the bottom. Why do you think that is? What will happen if you try it with the least dense solution on the bottom?
Supersaturated Solution
If you attempt to dissolve sugar in water, you reach a point where you cannot dissolve any more sugar. This is called a saturated solution. However, if you heat this solution, more sugar will dissolve. When the solution is cooled, the sugar will remain in solution. This is called a supersaturated solution, which is very unstable and will crystallize easily.
Explanation for Glowing Milk Exp.
1. How It Works
1. How It Works
Milk consists of a lot of different types of molecules, including fat, protein, sugars, vitamins, and minerals. If you had just touched a clean cotton swab to the milk (try it!), not much would have happened. The cotton is absorbent, so you would have created a current in the milk, but you wouldn't have seen anything especially dramatic happen.
When you introduce detergent to the milk, several things happen at once. The detergent lowers the surface tension of the liquid so that the food coloring is free to flow throughout the milk. The detergent reacts with the protein in the milk, altering the shape of those molecules and setting them in motion. The reaction between the detergent and the fat forms micelles, which is how detergent helps to lift grease off of dirty dishes.
As the micelles form, the pigments in the food coloring get pushed around. Eventually equilibrium is reached, but the swirling of the colors continues for quite a while before stopping.
2.
When you add soap, the weak chemical bonds that hold the proteins in solution are altered. It's a free for all! The molecules of protein and fat bend, roll, twist, and contort in all directions. The food color molecules are bumped and shoved everywhere, providing an easy way to observe all the invisible activity. At the same time, soap molecules combine to form a micelle, or cluster of soap molecules. These micelles distribute the fat in the milk.
This rapidly mixing fat and soap causes swirling and churning where a micelle meets a fat droplet. When there are micelles and fat droplets everywhere the motion stops, but not until after you've enjoyed the show!
There's another reason the colors explode the way they do. Since milk is mostly water, it has surface tension like water. The drops of food coloring floating on the surface tend to stay put. Liquid soap wrecks the surface tension by breaking the cohesive bonds between water molecules and allowing the colors to zing throughout the milk."
The Second Day in Rumah Amalan Limpahan Kasih
For the second day, I feel that all of us already improve ourselves. All of us already know how to communicate with the children and do more better than last visit. This time we conduct our activity very successfully. The children do not show their tiredness and they give their full commitment to our program.I feel they were satisfied our program especially slot of origami.Besides, I hope they can become more confident after the slot of soft skill.
Hence, I hope our next visit will make them more happy and excited.I also hope they can learn something from our activities.

The Second Day
Today, I dont talk the program flow, the problem we faced, bla bla bla...
I just want to share my feeling...
From the first meeting until now, i noticed that we not the same. We are no longer a "hi"," bye" friend but "hihi","byebye" friend.
I know this is very stranger and weird analogy, hahaha, but it is memang different, hard to say... just like we dont know how to describe how nice a tea tarik. XD
I also dont understand what am i writing... hahaha...

SE 2nd day event
Although the children who join our event become less, but we can feel that all the children will be more familiar with us.
For the confident test, the children are required to brainstorm to design their special wedding cake. From this event, they will learn how to design and promote their product. The most important thing is to build up their confident.
During the origami session, all of them put all their effort try to learn how to make origami. When they finally make it, they feel very satisfaction. When they knowing the skills, they can spend their free time origami and also teaching the other small kids.
Hence, I hope the another 2 days events can make them more happy and learn something from the events.

SE 1st day event
When I first time meet them in RALK, I so suprised that they are so small but actually they already are secondary students. During the event, the beginning always the most difficult time, because we do not know the name of each other, so we can't mix well. After some time, we start chit chat and more familiar with each other,
From them, I know that they actually come from different area and study at RALK. They spend most of the time in the school and less chances can exposed to outside. So, when we start our event with them, we know that they all feel very excited and interested.
Since the day we come in university, we are not a student already, we are the parts if the social. So, besides study and the results, we must also concern about the things that occur around us. Hence, i very appreciate that Social Engagement give me an oppurtunity that can get close to another group of people in our country.

MY FIRST SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCE ON 19 APRIL.
Firstly, I feel so satisfied with our effort on the first day. Although there are many unexpected event, we still manage to complete our work on the first day. However I do fell depressed knowing that the children are afraid of me. Look like I need to put more effort next time.
My favorite part of the day is the Taekwondo session as I have the chance to teach what I am good at. And seeing them enjoy the session is the best thing ever. But next time I have to adjust the intensity of the session so that they don't doze off in the activities after that.
I really glad that I have the chance to be involved in such a meaningful event, thank to Social Engagement Program. I also like to say thank you to you all for making this happen. Thanks for Dr. Arpah Guidance too.

My first experience in the first day visit
My first experience in the first day visit
I feel very happy because this is the first time I involved in volunteering work. Although we faced some problems at first, but we still able to solve it in the end.
The kids gave us a very big and warm welcome when we reached, They were very cooperative during we conducted our activities.
However, they felt tired after Tae-kwon-do session. This probably due to our less consideration in the arrangement of our tentative. We will improve and make some adjustment on the next visits' tentative.
After they took rest and eaten lunch, we continue our activities. They were back to energetic mode!! This session was the explanation part for personality test. Most of the kids have the same personality, which is sensible.
After we had our refreshment, we went back to UM.
Well, this is a very nice experience for me and I could interact with those kids.

The first visit to RALK is very memorable. I finally learnt that everybody's different - different background, different views and different attitude towards some things. The girls made me realise that I should stop thinking like myself and actually try to put myself in their shoes. After I got to know them more during the ice breaking, they're very interested in knowing Me, Mogana & Rinaa. They paid attention and stay polite eventhough they're tired - an attitude that everyone should follow.

First day social engagement on 19/4/15
My first experience doing this kind of activities. For me, the children overall are okay. But in my group, most of them are passive, it makes me hard to attract them to give 100% attention. i hope that for the next following week, they give us extraordinary responses. And keep it as memories together.

DAY 1 (The Introduction)
Greetings...
19th of April was our first day at the Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih for the Social Engagement subject and it was the first time ever we met the kids there. I won't be telling you the things we did at the orphanage but instead I will tell you the things I learn from them.
First of all, for them the time is gold. If they have the free time even for a five minutes before lunch, they will always praise Allah by singing or reciting Du'a. They really take Islam seriously because they only learn religious subjects at the school (which is kind of sad because for me they need proper education in order to survive the outside world when they grow up). However, they are provided with skills of managing a business which is for me at least a good way on making them a better person.
Second of all, unity. They are like sisters and always protect each other. When you ask them questions, if one person cannot answer, the others will. They protect each other, they eat together and perform the solah together. They even know each others' full name! Plus, they are very polite and outspoken at the same time which for me is very good so that their thoughts can be heard and considered.
Well today I am going for the second visit and will be conducting a slot with them. I will keep you updated when we finished today's (26 April 2015) visit with the new slots. Till next time.

My First Day at Rumal Amal Limpahan Kasih
Last 19/4/2015, all the Bioinformatics course mates gave the first visit to the home, Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. In my opinion, I gain some new experience by mingling with the orphanage's children who are a part of our society. I learnt children's thinking is not the same as adults. When, I conducted the Ice-breaking session, I was glad with the cooperation given by all the facilitators of 6 groups and also the children. I realized they have enough knowledge about our Malaysia's Prime Ministers. The children are quite sporting and they are volunteering themselves to voice out their respective opinion. Currently, waiting for the second visit ahead. =)
Some of the pictures were taken to keep it as a memory :

First visit on 19th April 2015
Can't wait for tomorrow
-- Our second visit!
Our chairman, Mogana wanted us to experience the job scope for each group. As consecutive, she arranged us (the committees) into different group so that we will be assigned different tasks each visit.
Let me share my first visit experience before I tell you about my task this week.
For our first visit on 19/4/2015(Sunday), it is a very great experience for me to interact with those kids. They welcomed us in a very warm way. Me and my partner, Ainna and Bader learned hot to communicate with them and the way to handle them.
Lots of activities had been conducted. For example, ice-breaking, Tae-kwon-do, personality test and the explanation for the personalities. And the most interesting part is we found that most of them are having the same personality -- Sensible! Ngmm Ngmm.. What's the personality of mine? (contemplating)
What's for tomorrow???
For me, my task for this week is to prepare an item checklist and make sure each of us bring the items as promised.
Well, this is such a different task as I was from Bureau of Logistic previously.
Let me post the item checklist below. Hehe

I didn't said that we will do some origami. Ooppssss.. =X
There will be much more activities to be conducted tomorrow!
To know more, stay tuned with us! =)
Everyone, stay energetic!!

FIRST DAY !!!!!
Today is our first day we conducted social engagement programme with the orphanages from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. Even though many things didn't go as our planned, the programme still went smoothly.Lots of things that we learnt from today's activities. We need to know how to handle them, try our best to get their attention and we can observe a great variety of people. Besides, we need to get closer to them to know them better because most of them are shy and did not talk much. However, we will try our best to make this programme interesting then, become unforgettable memory.

The Personalities in our group :)
Good evening all.
I have conducted the personality test on to http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test for the members. And this is what I got...
ANALYST (INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, ENTP)
I - maizurah
E - pidot, teh
DIPLOMATS (INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, ENFP)
I - ru shin, humaira, aiza
E - israa, bader, yow yong, keong, mogana
SENTINELS (ISTJ, ISFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ)
I - ainna
E - Ili
EXPLORERS (ISTP, ISFP, ESTP, ESFP)
I - rinaa
E - nabilah, chin yi
There will be 4 groups where each group have two sub-group INTROVERT and EXTROVERT. This groups set up will be handy in the explanation session where we will be explaining about strengths, weaknesses and career choices. If none of the children have that personality type of one of the group (which i doubt), the members may join other groups to help with the explanation.

YEAY !!MID SEMESTER BREAK!! TAPI.....
Orang lain mungkin seronok menghabiskan cuti mereka bersama keluarga tercinta. Marilah sama - sama mencari duit.

Ice Breaking
Hi everyone. :)
There will be a ice breaking session with the children on 19/4/2015 ( Sunday ).
It is a 40 minutes session.
Myself and Mogana will be in charge for this session.
We plan to come up with 6 Prime Minister's pictures and will cut each picture into 6 pieces where 5 pieces will be distributed to the children and 1 piece will be with the facilitator respectively.
Children will be instructed to complete the puzzle. As the picture being completed they will get into their respective group with particular facilitator.
A small introduction among team members will be conducted by the facilitator in the group itself. Later, the facilitator is required to deliver some interesting facts about the prime minister to the children.
The pictures of Prime Ministers:
Thank you. Your comments are welcome :)

OH MY SPONSOR!!!!
hye,
so as you know that we are conducting social engagement program with the orphanages. So today, lets hear from sponsporship bureau . aha!
well as we know whenever we held a programs, sponsorship are one of the bureau that will struggle up for finding sponsor. ahhhhh... so hard lahh..
right now we are having some difficulties on finding sponsor because of the short time and also because of the GST. Yupp, our goverment have done the GST things. So whenever we called the company they said something like to close their account due to update all the things with gst. and I'll be like what?!! no no..
I dont know it's true or not or they just make it as excuse for not giving us sponsor. ahhhh..:(
but right now our bureau of sponsorship are kicking our butt off for finding sponsor. So wish us luck.. because we will work for it no matter what!! hahaha
so if any other company that want to give sponsor do comment and give you personal info so that I can contact you. Or send me emails ainna.soraya@gmail.com
and if there are somebody out there that want to donate, please freely comment or just send me email again ainna.soraya@gmail.com for further info's. There's nothing to regret for donating to orphanages.
"TOGETHER WE HELP THE PEOPLE IN NEED"
do comment okay. =)
